Using the Echo Wall Clock in Canada

Back in September 2018, Amazon introduced a number of new Echo devices including the Echo Wall Clock.

The Echo Wall Clock is designed to keep you organized and on time and works with your Echo devices. The clock has a 10-inch diameter, 60 LED lights around the clock face and a white bezel.

Setting up and using the Echo Wall Clock

To get started with your Echo Wall Clock, you’ll first need to insert 4 AA batteries into the back. Wait for the clock to boot up and then you’ll need to hold down the button on the back to put it into pairing mode.

After that, you’ll need to set the language of your Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Echo Plus, Echo Spot, or Echo Input to English (U.S.).

Then you’ll able to say, “Alexa, set up my Echo Wall Clock” and your Echo device will start searching for your Echo Wall Clock. It’s worth noting that you can only pair one Echo Wall Clock per Echo device and it pairs via Bluetooth.

Once your Echo Wall Clock is paired, you’ll have to wait about 3-4 minutes for the clock to sync the time with your Echo device.

Now, if you ask Alexa for a timer, it’ll then visually show it to you on your Echo Wall Clock via the LED lights. Each of the LEDs counts as one second and if you set a timer for like 3 minutes, you’ll see the LEDs count down three times.

I did come across some issues where the Echo Wall Clock would just stop showing the current time become stuck. To help fix this, I went into the Alexa app and clicked on my Echo Dot paired with the clock and unpaired the two. Then I paired the Echo Wall Clock to my Echo Dot and it started to work again.

Buying the Echo Wall Clock

In the U.S., the Echo Wall Clock can be purchased from Amazon.com and in Canada, it is available from Wantboard.

In Summary, the Echo Wall Clock is a unique device that’s not a full-fledged Echo device but that works alongside your Alexa-powered Echo devices.

Canadian Compatibility: To enable the Echo Wall Clock to work in Canada, all you need to do is change the language on your Echo device to English (U.S.) and then it should work without any major issues.
