COMMON RETINOID QUESTIONS AND HOW TO USE MOONLIGHT

- Is retinaldehyde similar to other retinoids like retinoic acid (tretinoin) and retinol?

Yes, retinaldehyde (also called retinal) is part of the retinoid family and is a relative of retinol (common in skin care products) and retinoic acid (available by prescription).

- Why use retinaldehyde rather than the more common retinol?

With Moonlight, the goal is to bring you a retinoid product that can deliver prescription level results but with much less irritation.

As the retinol concentration is increased, the effectiveness quickly plateaus as more retinol is added, but irritation keeps getting worse. 

So, instead of retinol the much more potent cousin retinaldehyde was used combined high potency retinaldehyde with a unique complex of soothing and hydrating ingredients to deliver you the balance of great results with less irritation.

- I am completely new to retinoids. Can I still use Moonlight?

If you're new to retinoids, we recommend being conservative with Moonlight when starting out. Use Moonlight once or twice a week for the first few weeks, and then increase gradually.

Or you can start with a good 0.1% to 0.3% retinol product for a few months then step up to using our Moonlight Serum. 

- How should I use the Moonlight Retinal Super Serum?

Moonlight is recommneded to use at night (and always wear SPF 30 or higher during the day). If you use other Maelove products, layer it with NIA 10 Serum, Moonlight Serum, and the Hydrator B5 Serum. Then use a deeply moisturizing cream like One Cream to seal in all your products.

You can layer Moonlight with any other product in your routine. If you use AHA or BHA serum or cream, using acid products and Moonlight on alternating nights until your skin adjusts is recommended.

- Can I use Moonlight if I'm pregnant or nursing?

If you're pregnant or nursing, Night Renewer Glycolic Acid Cream is recommended instead.

We offer free shipping within Canada on all orders.

Returns and Refunds

Items may be exchanged or returned for a full refund, less any vendor shipping and handling costs, up to 14 days after they have been delivered. When returning your item, please contact us for a prepaid return shipping label.

To be eligible for a refund, the item must be returned in its original condition and original packaging within 14 days of receipt.

If the item is not in its original condition and packaging, we can only accept a return if the item is defective.

If you received a damaged or defective item we can replace the item for you free of charge. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Due to the unique nature of the items purchased on our website, we cannot accept returns for items that do not perform as expected due to Canadian compatibility issues or items that do not suit the desired needs of the user.
