How far away from my house can I put Wyze Plug Outdoor?

Wyze Plug Outdoor has long-range WiFi to ensure it can be used in many locations. It can reach up to 300 feet in an open environment but the exact distance will depend on the location (how many walls between the hardware, the building materials, etc.).

How does the light sensor feature work?

Wyze Plug Outdoor has a built-in photocell sensor that measures ambient light around the device. It is important to follow the in-app instructions and orient the device so it faces away from the wall so the sensor is exposed to the surrounding environment.

Is WiFi required?

Yes, Wyze Plug Outdoor requires WiFi for setup and all features except the light sensor which (once configured using WiFi) can automatically turn Wyze Plug Outdoor on/off based on ambient light.

Can I manually turn Wyze Plug Outdoor on and off?

Yes, there are two on/off buttons on the hardware that let you control it directly from the plug.

Is there a specific way I need to mount Wyze Plug Outdoor?

Yes, Wyze Plug Outdoor should plug directly into an outlet and then hang down so that water does not run into the sockets. It should not be left flat or in standing or running water. If you would like to use the light sensor, it will need to face away from the wall so the sensor is exposed to the surrounding environment.

Returns and Refunds
Items may be exchanged or returned for a full refund, less any vendor shipping and handling costs, up to 14 days after they have been delivered. When returning your item, please contact us for a prepaid return shipping label.
To be eligible for a refund, the item must be returned in its original condition and original packaging within 14 days of receipt.
If the item is not in its original condition and packaging, we can only accept a return if the item is defective.
If you received a damaged or defective item we can replace the item for you free of charge. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
