My Smart Gx Bottle is Disconnected, how do I troubleshoot?  
First, make sure that

  • Phone-level Bluetooth is enabled by going to your iOS Settings > Bluetooth > Enable Bluetooth
  • App-level Bluetooth enabled by going to iOS Settings > Gatorade Gx > Enable Bluetooth
  • The bottle is within 10 meters (33ft) distance from your phone
  • The Smart Gx Bottle cap is charged
  • The Smart Gx Bottle is functioning (check this by pressing the button on the bottle cap, and confirm that the LED lights illuminate)

If you are still unable to connect your phone after attempting the above:

  • Click “Forget this device” and start the process of reconnecting the bottle.
  • Make your Smart Gx Bottle discoverable by holding down the button on the cap until you see flashing blue lights (typically around 8 seconds).
  • Once your Smart Gx Bottle is discoverable, tap the “Find My Smart Gx Bottle” button to connect your bottle to the Gx App.
  • Once the app has located your bottle, click the “Connect My Smart Gx Bottle” button.

How does the Smart Gx Bottle Work? 
The cap of the bottle has a sensor that calculates how much liquid is in the bottle when it’s resting on a flat surface. To do so, the sensor measures the distance between it and the top of the liquid, then subtracts that from the bottle’s known total volume. This measurement lets us know how much liquid has been consumed over a period of time.

Do I need to download the Gx App to use the Smart Gx Bottle?
Yes, you’ll need to download the app and follow the instructions in it to get started with your Smart Gx Bottle.

How do I connect my Smart Gx Bottle?

  • Make your Smart Gx Bottle discoverable by holding down the button on the cap until you see flashing blue lights (typically around 8 seconds).
  • Once your Smart Gx Bottle is discoverable, tap the “Find My Smart Gx Bottle” button to connect your bottle to the Gx App.
  • Once the app has located your bottle, click the “Connect My Smart Gx Bottle” button.

How long does it take the Smart Gx Bottle and Gx App to update my hydration progress? 

The Smart Gx Bottle syncs with the Gx App every 30-60 seconds to track your hydration progress.

Should one unlatch the cap or twist off the cap to refill the Smart Gx Bottle?Refill your Smart Gx Bottle by opening the latch or twisting off the cap and filling the bottle from the top. Tilt your bottle after refilling to take a fresh measurement and set it on a flat surface and wait 30-60 seconds for the Smart Gx Bottle to sync. The lights on the cap will flash in blue when ready.

How do I refill my Smart Gx Bottle? 
Refill your Smart Gx Bottle by opening the latch on the cap or unscrewing the cap entirely. We recommend opening the latch and completely refilling the bottle for better accuracy

Unlatching Instructions:

  • Unlatch the cap on your Smart Gx Bottle and refill to the desired level
  • Close the latch after refilling the bottle
  • Set the bottle on a flat surface
  • Wait 30-60 seconds for the Smart Gx Bottle to sync. The lights on the cap will flash in blue when ready

Unscrewing Instructions:

  • Unscrew the cap on your Smart Gx Bottle and refill to the desired level
  • Reattach the latch after refilling the bottle
  • Title the bottle to a 90-degree angle to take a new measurement
  • Set the bottle on a flat surface
  • Wait 30-60 seconds for the Smart Gx Bottle to sync. The lights on the cap will flash in blue when ready

How does my Smart Gx Bottle know when the bottle is refilled?
The Smart Gx bottle will flash blue lights when a fresh measurement has been taken after refilling. The blue flashing lights will occur when the bottle recognizes a measurement that is 200mL or more than the last measurement.

What kinds of liquids can one use in the Smart Gx Bottle?
You can use water, Gatorade® Gx Pods and other sports drinks. Do not use hot liquids in the Smart Gx Bottle as they could damage the cap.

Can one freeze the Smart Gx Bottle?
Do not freeze the Smart Gx Bottle, as ice does not allow for accurate readings and freezing could damage the cap.

Can one place ice in the Smart Gx Bottle?
It is not recommended that you put ice into your Smart Gx Bottle as it can cause an error with the sensor properly reading how much liquid is in your bottle.

Can one use hot liquids in the Smart Gx Bottle?
Do not use hot liquids in the Smart Gx Bottle as they could damage the cap.

Returns and Refunds
